Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of severnsoundstudio.com and online booking of sessions at Severn Sound Studio, Annapolis, MD. By using the site or booking a session, you agree to them.

Bookings are reservations, confirmed after review

An online booking reserves your time slot. Every booking is reviewed by our team before it is final. Recording time depends on many factors (preparation, arrangement, number of parts and songs, and how polished you want the result), so if the time booked doesn't realistically fit the project described, we will contact you to adjust the plan together (different length, date, or approach).

Payment

When you book, a card is placed on file but not charged, and the date is not yet secured. After we review and approve the session, we charge a 50% deposit, and the booking is confirmed once that deposit has been received. The remaining balance is due at your session. Mixing and mastering are billed separately from recording, according to the time each part of the project requires.

Session time estimates

Any recommended durations shown on this site are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. Actual session and post-production time varies with factors inside and outside our control.

Cancellations and changes

Plans change. Tell us as early as you can and we'll work with you to reschedule. If we adjust or decline a booking during review, we'll work with you to reschedule or refund payments made for that booking. Specific cancellation windows and any session-specific terms are stated during booking or in your confirmation.

Your material

You keep ownership of your music and performances. You are responsible for having the rights to any material you bring to record (songs, samples, and guest performances). Deliverables, usage of studio recordings, and any additional services are agreed per project.

Studio conduct

Guests are welcome within reason. We may end a session, without refund of time used, for illegal activity, damage, or behavior that puts people or equipment at risk.

Website

Site content (text, photos, audio previews, and design) belongs to Severn Sound Studio or its licensors and may not be reused without permission. Featured audio is used with permission of the respective rights holders. The site is provided "as is" without warranties.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a booking or use of this site is limited to the amount you paid us for the session at issue. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
