Severn Sound Studio ("we," "us") operates severnsoundstudio.com and a recording studio at 2162 Renard Ct, Annapolis, MD 21401. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Contact and project details you send us: when you submit our contact form, we receive the information you enter (such as name, email, phone number, and project description).
• Session requests: when you send a session request, we receive the details you enter (such as name, email, phone number, preferred dates, and notes). If we confirm a session, scheduling and payment may be handled through Acuity Scheduling (a Squarespace company) and its payment processor under their own privacy policies. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Communications: if you call, email, or text us, we receive the contact information and content you choose to share. If you text us first, we may reply by text; reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts from us.
• Technical data: our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, used for security and site operation. If you arrive from an online ad, the link may include campaign identifiers.
• Anonymous visit statistics (no cookies): to understand how the site is used, we count page visits and interactions such as how far you scroll, which buttons you tap, which songs you play, and how long the page is open. This does not use cookies or store anything on your device. We do not store your IP address; visits are grouped using a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. We also record the general region your visit came from, your device type and browser, and which ad or website referred you. These statistics are kept for up to 13 months and used only by us.
• Site usage and session recordings (only with your consent): if you accept cookies, we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use this page, through heatmaps and recordings of page interactions such as clicks, taps, and scrolling. Anything you type into our forms is masked and never recorded. We use this only to improve the site. Clarity is provided by Microsoft under its own privacy statement. If you decline, Clarity does not load.
• Advertising measurement (only with your consent): if you accept cookies in our consent banner, we use Google's measurement tags (Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, and Google Analytics) to understand which ads bring visitors here and whether they contact us. If you submit our contact form after consenting, Google may also receive the contact details you entered in hashed (scrambled) form to improve measurement accuracy; Google cannot read the original values. How we use information

• To respond to inquiries and plan, confirm, and provide studio services.
• To review bookings and contact you about scheduling, timing, or changes.
• To operate, secure, and improve this website.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us operate: currently Acuity Scheduling (scheduling and payments for confirmed sessions), Resend (email delivery for our contact form), Vercel (website hosting), and, if you consent to cookies, Google (ad measurement) and Microsoft Clarity (site usage analytics), and where required by law. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Text messaging

Texting with us is optional. If you initiate a text conversation, standard message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out of further messages at any time by replying STOP. We do not send marketing text blasts, and we do not share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing.

Retention and security

We keep project and booking communications for as long as needed to provide services and meet legal or accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize them. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us atstevetaylor@severnrecords.com or(410) 280-7408. You can withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time using the Cookie preferenceslink in the footer. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, including under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information online. Minors record at the studio only with a parent or guardian involved.
